Rural Holiday Cottages of Dorset & Hampshire

A vacation in the rural hideaways of the UK can be the perfect way to relax and to spend some time with your loved ones. I remember staying at some holiday cottages in Hampshire when I was a child and also some in Dorset and they were always a great experience.

The holiday cottages in Hampshire were set in a beautiful rural setting, where we could visit local tourist attractions. We were also located near to the cities of Portsmouth and Southampton so we could go shopping and visit the docks if we wished to do so.

The countryside holiday cottage in Hampshire was a listed building that had been restored to its original condition by some specialist conservation builders in Somerset. They had managed to do an great job repairing the cottage to it’s original form and this made are stay even more enjoyable as we would often sit in front of the fireplace and play Monopoly.

The Dorset cottage was very different to the holiday cottages in Hampshire. It was still a rural cottage but it had more modern facilities as it wasn’t confined by the same listed building conditions as the one in Hampshire. Dorset is a region of the UK that has a healthy mix of modern towns and business areas, whilst also keeping some of its countryside mystery with its beautiful beaches and villages. Staying in Dorset cottages can be extremely rewarding for people of all ages; the beach provides a great experience for all, allowing a mix of relaxation with plenty of entertainment for kids of all ages.

The self catering holiday cottages in Dorset we had were situated just outside of Poole, which allowed us to go to all the different tourist attractions that can be found in the region. This meant we got to have fantastic days out at places like Monkey World, Moors Valley Country Park and we took a trip to see the Cerne Abbas Giant.
