Is your house boring and beige?

I find that bold colors and cute ornaments and decoration really help to lighten your mood and keep you happy while you are at home. Not everyone is going to like having that kind of decoration, but I think that the current trend for having really subdued colors and very austere and minimalist furniture is no fun at all and will dampen your mood. Instead of using those plain colors I like to highlight areas in the room either with bright wallpaper or paint, or even better a bright piece of furniture to change how the room feels.

So you could have a really bright turquoise chair in the corner of the room to help highlight that corner of the room, and maybe a nice rug on the floor with colorful designs on too. These little touches may seem like they wouldn’t do anything, but color does affect our moods and when you are sitting in that bright chair it is going to give your spirits a lift for sure.

It doesn’t have to be just furniture though, you could get a pink docking station or some pink headphones or even pink speakers to help brighten up any room in the house, or even some bright pictures can really turn the mood of a room around. Paintings can be expensive, but if you go to eBay then you can find imported oil paintings from China which are high quality and pretty cheap, or you can opt for a canvas print of which there are thousands of on there. I like canvas prints, you have a huge selection to choose from, and then what they do is print the image you chose onto some real canvas, then stretch the canvas over a wooden frame like a real painting, that means you get it super cheap!
