Building Lean muscle Without Weights Is Possible
It is pretty easy and effective to build muscle without weights if you can think outside of the box. The belief that you must use weights in order to have a powerful physique, is amusing. But in the back few years, the fitness industry has had a revival of body weight training. Not only is it possible to build muscle without weights, there are groups of people more impressive physiques than what you find in the typical gym environment.
No Need for Weights, And You Can Still Have That Great Body
The Summer Olympics featuring the men’s gymnastics is proof. These guys probably have the most ripped and muscular physiques in all of sport and all of it is created using body weight resistance. Their muscles are large and plenty, but they also have amazing definition in their forms. One of the advantages of using body weight instead of building muscle with free weights is that it pays to diet off any excess body fat. Carrying extra weight really impedes the workout needed to build muscle without weights.
Can I get really big if I don’t use weights?
True, the men in the body building contests do lift free weights. And if that’s your aim, then trying to build muscle without weights is not for you. But for most of us, that’s not what we want to see. That overly worked look was the in-thing for a while, but went out of style once the 90s came around. People realized how unnatural and unhealthy this look was. You want to be an average body weight with killer muscle tone and definition. Your body weight to strength ratio decreases quite a bit once you begin to build those muscles too much. Back to those gymnasts, those men are stronger than any bodybuilders in the business. Their strength is practical as well.
Master One Arm and One Leg Movements to Put On Muscle
Making your workout more demanding and adding resistance will help you define your muscles and advance to the place you want to be more quickly. You can pick up a weighted backpack to do your push ups. Or tie on a weight belt to make it more challenging and increase your resistance. But you will see more results quicker if you become proficient at one arm push ups and one arm chin ups. This way you can exercise with little equipment.
All you need are 4-5 body weight exercises to build muscle without weights
Becoming proficient at hanging leg raises and pistol squats, along with the one armed chin up and push up will give you that incredible body you desire. If that becomes too easy, then you want to do your push ups with only your hand. This will make it even harder. By the time you can do each of these exercises, it will be obvious that you can build muscle without weights.
